In 2019 US FDA issued a warning of rising reports and injuries from oral Cannabidiol.
Today I found:
US FAERS has 1,740 Deaths from 19,591 case reports giving a Death to Report Ratio of 8.9% for generic Cannabidiol. Over 2,050 side effects are listed.
US FAERS has 1,583 Deaths from 17,924 case reports giving a Death to Report Ratio of 8.8% for the legally approved drug Epidiolex.
Epidiolex is approved for Lennox-Gastaut syndrome or Dravet syndrome.
In 2020 Australia’s TGA approved Cannabidiol as “Epidyolex”, sponsored by Emerge Health Pty. Ltd. and Jazz Pharmaceuticals ANZ Pty. Ltd.
TGA says:
The precise mechanisms by which Cannabidiol exerts its anticonvulsant effects in humans are unknown. Cannabidiol does not exert its anticonvulsant effect through interaction with cannabinoid receptors.
Cannabidiol reduces neuronal hyper-excitability through modulation of intracellular calcium via G protein-coupled receptor 55 (GPR55) and transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV-1) channels, as well as modulation of adenosine-mediated signalling through inhibition of adenosine cellular uptake via the equilibrative nucleoside transporter 1 (ENT-1).
Each mL of EPIDYOLEX oral solution contains 79 mg of Ethanol absolute, 736 mg Sesame oil, and 0.5 mg of Chlorinated artificial sweetener Sucralose with Strawberry flavour 501094A !!!
Australia’s TGA DAEN reports 18 Deaths from 56 case reports 16 medicines containing Cannabidiol and 6 Deaths (including 1 completed Suicide) from 19 case reports for EPIDYOLEX.
I wonder if some of the Cannabidiol Deaths and Injuries might be due to residual contamination from the very high Endotoxin content of the plant?

In a recent article I discussed the exposure of Mice to nebulized Endotoxin to deliberately inflame their Lungs.
Looks like we should take a deeper dive into Cannabidiol.
