Gareth K. Thomas · Trauma Reformed with Gareth K. Thomas

Last week, I was at our HQ in sunny Gloucestershire, teaching on our Level 4 Trauma-Informed Practitioner Diploma, looking at Behaviour as a Mode of Communication. Later in the week, I joined foster parent Mandie and social worker Laura, as we talked about personal boundaries (and why these are so important).

Building an understanding of polyvagal theory has helped me understand trauma in new and helpful ways, and Deb Dana is one of the people who makes understanding polyvagal theory possible. This recent episode, featuring Deb, is a great place to start. Following the episode, I’ve been reading one of Deb’s books, Anchored.

The Disneyland Handcrafted documentary is available on Disney+, but you can also find it on YouTube (in full, for free) below. It’s made from the original footage of Disneyland's creation. I’ve been a fan of the story behind the Disney magic ever since I visited the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco (one of my favourite museums). On a related note, I just added The Unauthorized Story of Walt Disney’s Haunted Mansion to my reading list.
