Fuzzy Cracklins · Fuzzy's best free music picks of the month

Fuzzy Cracklins of The Swamp Records picks his favorite free & NYP stoner, doom, and psych albums on Bandcamp for May 2026.

What’s NYP?? “NYP” is Name Your Price on Bandcamp. You can download the album for free by entering 0 (zero) as the price, or you can pay whatever you like to add the album to your Bandcamp collection & support underground artists.

You’ll find more FREE albums on Fuzzy’s CODE DROPPER page.

Check out these album reviews that I wrote this month:

Did I miss one?? Comment below or email me at fuzzycracklins@gmail.com if you have a free album to suggest. Thanks!!

Montreal’s SEUM has a new vocal style while maintining their sludge bass-only heavy sound. GRABBA CODE BELOW!!

Pretty much every month I have a free album to recommend from Hungary’s psychedelic source records, and that’s because they are so good!! This month, they banged out TWO incredible albums, and this one is over TWO HOURS!! GRABBA CODE BELOW!!

Mind-blowingly excellent heavy psych / desert / stoner. Long, hazy, fuzzy tracks that seem to drift out along the dunes of time. Not sure if this is a split or all one band, but either way it's excellent.

Killer stoner / psych debut from Germany. These guys dig all the same bands that I do, and you can hear it in their music!!

lloydd says:

Neurophonic is defined as a sound evoked frequency following an extracellular electrical signal produced in the brain or auditory nerve that mimics the waveform of a sound stimulus. I do not have a fucking clue what that means. All I know this is a fantastic set of songs. Thanks again Fuzzy Cracklins. Favorite track: Consciential Paradigms.

Lots of new sounds and vocals on this preview. I'm digging the heaviness and originality.

Canadian psych/garage rock with plenty of indie vibes. Theme stays true to the band name. Recommended!!

Depressing as hell and I can't stop listening. Slow torturous riffs heading inexorably toward doom. Incredible instrumentals on here and I'm particularly drawn to the drum work. Excellent!!

Instrumental stoner metal and lots of it!! Enough killer guitar work on here to get this played on repeat.

Fuzzy down-tuning successfully achieved. And killer samples. Get on this one!!

The long-awaited return of the folk psych legend.

Heavier and fuzzier and trippier than some of the recent jams, and I'm really digging it!! These guys combine excellent musicianship with a technical prowess that is hard to hear anywhere else.

Steve Rodger says:

Immediately noticed Chris Babalis on artwork not the only highlight to be found here.

Dungeon synth

Drone / dark ambient

Doomshire says this about “Trip To Death And Back” from Jerico on The Swamp Records:

This is a definite grower hailing back to classic rock albums of the 70s, NWBHM, beautiful folky acoustic passages and even some brass sections like when the Stones went to Muscle Shoals after too much dabbling in the black arts and added soul to the mix.a good album to put on in the morning to clear the fog from your brain after a heavy night. Favorite track: Diving.

These albums were free and NYP at the time of posting. If you notice a change, please comment below or contact Fuzzy at fuzzycracklins@gmail.com

Catch you next month!
