i made you a blind box

dropping by with a lil hello and an update <3

the summer has been full, and i’ve been up to something so special—the kind of thing i’ve wanted to make for years and kept not quite finding the moment for. it comes to you the older way. not through a screen this time, but in a carefully wrapped box, with your name on it.

for months i’ve been gathering objects that belonged to other people before they came to me. ceramics from someone else’s kitchen. books already read and marked in the margins. small pieces of paper that outlived the hands that saved them. i’ve learned to notice this kind of thing, and i’ve wanted, for a while, to pass some of it on.

you won’t see it before it comes. that’s the tenderness of it, and the risk—you’re trusting the same attention that runs through everything else you’ve kept from me, turned now toward objects i had no part in making. what’s inside changes completely from one parcel to the next. no two are alike.

there are fifty. once they’ve found their people, the drop is finished and i won’t make more. this is the part of my work you can keep on a shelf or hand to someone else down the line.
