After my first session at Boxpark, I was invited to host another workshop “Empowering Yourself with AI: Tools, Tips & Awareness.”
What’s funny is that after 10+ years working in infrastructure project management, and running countless workshops as part of large transformation programmes, I still felt nervous going into this one. It was a completely different environment stepping into another company’s space, not knowing the culture, and leading a workshop in an area I’m deeply passionate about but still exploring in new ways myself.
That nervousness quickly turned into excitement once we got started. I had my slide deck ready, but this setup was totally different I was literally sitting on the sofa with my laptop on my lap, sharing slides with people both in the room and on a Google Meet call. It was a balancing act between engaging those in front of me and those behind the screen but honestly, I enjoyed the collaborative nature of it.
That’s the thing about trying new things: you have to adapt fast, think on your feet, and stay calm under pressure. It keeps things exciting, and it’s how you grow.
The session ended up being really interactive and collaborative full of great questions and genuine curiosity from both sides. I even managed to hit the one-hour mark bang on, which is always satisfying.
I also shared how I completely built my app, CameThru, using AI only. No code. No technical background. Just curiosity, experimentation, and a drive to prove that you don’t need to be a developer to create something valuable.
