Welcome to your Sunday ritual.
Quick poll. How many of you have looked up your symptoms this week. Be honest. The fatigue that sleep will not fix, the gut that has opinions now, the heart rate for no reason, the dreams shot in full IMAX. Somewhere between “is it my thyroid” and “am I finally losing it,” yes?
Neither. Put the search away. There is nothing wrong with your thyroid and there is nothing wrong with you. The sky is just carrying an enormous load right now, and your body, being a good little antenna, is picking up every bit of it.
Let me tell you what it is picking up, because it is a lot, and a good deal of it was never yours to begin with.
Here is the part most people miss. A lot of what you are carrying this week did not start with you.
The planets that are loud right now are the collective ones, the slow, huge, generational ones, and they are all locked together this week in that basket everyone online keeps talking about, the one I walked you through in detail in last week’s deep dive, you might remember. When they get this active, your own life stops being the only thing you are feeling. You start picking up everyone else’s too, whether you asked to or not. The antenna is wide open. You are picking up the whole room, the grief and the rage and the exhaustion of a few billion nervous systems at once, and your body files all of it under mine and tries to carry it accordingly.
Some of it is yours, of course. You have your own week, your own tiredness, your own things. But a good share of this density is the collective’s, on loan, sitting in your chest as if you signed for it. That is why sleep is barely denting it, and why the dreams are so loud, because at night the last of the filter drops and the collective pours straight in.
Here is what that exhaustion actually is, because it is not the thing it is impersonating.
It feels like something is wrong, like you are falling apart, like everyone else is coping and you are not. That is not what is happening. Underneath all of this, four slow planets are marking out deep, real work. Pluto marks transformation, Neptune marks a dissolving, Uranus marks upheaval, and Jupiter is magnifying all three at once. Between them they point to the same thing, something prying us out of the shell, the old solid self, the old solid world, and pushing us somewhere we have not been.
And here is the thing about your nervous system. It cannot tell the difference between danger and unfamiliar. So when the ground goes new under your feet, the body sounds the same alarm it would for a real threat. This is not weakness, and it is not cowardice, whatever the tired voice in your head is calling it. You are just standing somewhere you have never stood, right at the edge where the old solid ground runs out, no map, no rail, nothing but open air in front of you. The body always protests the edge before it learns it can fly off it.
So go easy on the part of you that thinks it is failing. Nothing is failing. This is what a birth feels like from the inside, loud and painful and exhausting for everyone in the room, and something does actually get born at the end of it.
Here is something to hold onto when a crowd of planets goes off together like this. The slowest one leads, and this week that is Pluto. So whatever else is in the mix, the whole thing has Pluto’s fingerprints on it, and Pluto only ever deals in one thing. What got buried.
Jupiter is the planet sitting opposite it, and all Jupiter really does is magnify. It grabs whatever is already there and makes it enormous. And what is already there, if we are being honest, is a great deal of rot. So Jupiter hauls it up into the light where nobody can pretend not to see it, the decay out in the world, the power games, and the buried thing in here too, the wild, unruly, not-at-all-nice animal you pressed down years ago because good children keep the peace. Collective shadow and personal shadow, both getting dragged up at once. It is not a pleasant week to be honest with yourself, and honesty is on the menu whether you ordered it or not. (And it sharpens further next week, when the Sun crosses in and takes its own turn opposing Pluto)
But this is exactly where the gold is, so stay with me. There is no cruelty in what Pluto does here. The buried stuff, the things you have kept in the dark, is the only material it has ever had to work with, and it cannot start until those things are up in the open where you can finally look at them. Nothing changes while you refuse to look. So when the rot rises this week, try to see it for what it really is. The world is not ending. It is just old buried material coming up into the light, which was always the only place it stood a chance of changing.
And it is worth actually watching, because you are living through one of those stretches the history books quietly circle later.
These are not one-week angles.
The slow ones between Uranus, Neptune and Pluto stay live for years, so do not think of this as a single dramatic Monday. What is really underway, quietly, under all the noise, is a shedding of the shell, and it is happening on every level at once. Out in the world you will see it as a changing of the guard, power starting to move, grips loosening in leadership and institutions and the offices that run things, old names shrinking while a new generation comes up underneath, and new figures and voices and movements stepping onto the stage right where the old ones are losing the room.
But it is not only out there. It is in you too. The version of you that fit a few years ago does not quite fit now, an old identity is cracking off and something newer is forming underneath, and that is the same process, just at your own scale. 2026 through 2028 is where the seeds of the next decade go into the ground, out in the collective and quietly inside your own life. It begins now, but it works underground for a long time.
And do not forget what is coming. Eclipse season is nearly on us, and eclipses are detonators. Whatever is getting quietly lit this month is what they set off, loudly, in a few weeks. Right now is the slow fuse burning down.
The catch with seeds is you cannot see them. Nobody living through this week will feel like history is happening, it will just feel like a bad, heavy Tuesday. But five, ten years from now we look back and go, oh, that was it, that was 2026, that is when the whole thing was set in motion. So do me a favor and actually watch this month. Notice who is gaining weight and who is quietly losing it, which names are rising and which are running on fumes. You are watching the seeds go in.
Before we get to the resting, and we will, there is one genuinely useful thing happening this week that I do not want to slip past you in all the heaviness.
Mercury has been sitting almost perfectly still for days and turns forward on Thursday. A retrograde that ends is a different animal from one that begins. This is the exact window for finishing. All those things that have stalled, dangled, refused to close for the last three weeks, the reply you never sent, the form half filled in, the conversation left mid-air, this is the week they finally click shut. So before you launch anything, go around and close the open loops. It will lighten the load more than a nap will.
A couple of shifts worth naming. On Wednesday the Sun leaves Cancer and crosses into Leo, so Leo season begins, and normally this is where I would tell you the warmth is coming back, the light, the summer heart. It is, a little. But do not expect it to lift the density on its own, because the Sun walks in and almost immediately squares Chiron.
That square tends to surface health things, the physical kind especially, an old ache flaring up, the body sending the bill for weeks of strain. If your body speaks up this week, do not push through it, listen. It has been holding a lot for you and it has earned the right to be heard. And the same square presses the old worth-wound underneath, that quiet question of whether you are even allowed to take up space and be seen, right as Leo season starts asking you to. Be gentle with that part of you.
Then the weekend turns heavy again, so do not let the Leo warmth fool you into overbooking it. Saturn stations retrograde on Sunday, and Saturn stations always land with a thud, a sudden drop in energy, a weight on the chest, the year’s big lessons turning inward to be reworked from the inside. And the Sun is closing in on its own opposition to Pluto, which perfects early next week, so that same exposure we talked about, the rot and the shadow coming up into the light, gets one more hard pass with the Sun’s name on it. In plain terms, the weekend is for lying low, not for big moves or big conversations.
And let me leave you with where all of this is actually taking us, because there is a point to it.
At the very end of this month, the lunar nodes shift onto the Leo-Aquarius axis, and that is the compass turning. We are being pulled, all of us, out of the spotlight and toward the collective, toward community, toward groups and teams and the many instead of the few. The years ahead are going to push us to build together, to fight for each other, to grow in the direction of we instead of me. So when you finally step off this edge, there is actually something on the other side of it, a more connected world, one we end up building side by side. I will lay all of it out properly in the nodes piece coming soon.
But that is the horizon. This week is just the edge, and the ache in your body, and the work of staying still long enough to let the alarm pass.
Monday, July 20: The basket closes. Jupiter opposes Pluto, trines Neptune, sextiles Uranus, all at 4 degrees. The heaviest day, the ego meeting the wall, the old power structures cracking. Rest. Do not react.
Tuesday, July 21: Mercury is nearly still now, and these station days are quietly excellent for focus. If you need to concentrate on one hard thing, the mind will hold still for it. Moon into Scorpio tonight, so feelings run deep. Let them.
Wednesday, July 22: The Sun leaves Cancer for Leo. A flicker of warmth returns. But you are still tired, so take the warmth and keep resting.
Thursday, July 23: The Sun squares Chiron, and Mercury finally turns direct. The retrograde ends, though the fog does not clear overnight. The worth-wound gets pressed as the light comes back.
Friday, July 24: Mercury meets Venus, and a kinder word finds its way through, good for a quiet, honest conversation. But Saturn is slowing to its station now, so the weight is already settling in underneath the day. Do the gentle thing, then rest.
Saturday, July 25: Neptune sextiles Pluto, slow and generational. And the Saturn heaviness keeps building toward tomorrow, that flat, leaden, hard-to-lift feeling. This is a lie-low day. Off the screen, onto the ground.
Sunday, July 26: Saturn turns retrograde in Aries, a heavy inward settling, the year’s structural work turning back on itself. And the Sun starts heading for its own opposition to Pluto, at that same charged 4 degrees of Leo, whose old symbol is a rock at the edge of a canyon: no way back, only the leap. It lands early next week, and we will meet it properly then. For now, go gently. Go outside.
I will be honest with you, because I always am. I have been feeling this one hard in my own body too, and so has almost everyone who has written to me this week. The tiredness, the density, the sense that you are carrying more than your share. You are. We all are. It is real, and naming it helps, so here it is named.
So this week the ritual is the simplest one I have ever handed you. Do less. Standing at the edge does not mean you jump today, and panicking at the edge and sprinting in every direction is how people get hurt. Sit down on the rock instead. Put your hand on the ground and breathe until the alarm quiets.
And cut the screens, I am serious about this one. The screen is the widest open channel to the collective there is, so every time you pick it up you pour more of everyone’s panic into a system that is already full. You do not need the fortieth take on the rot in the world today. Put it down and go find something that is not collective. A tree has no opinion about the news. An animal is not doomscrolling. Get your body onto real ground, under real trees, near water if you can reach it. That is nervous system medicine, the fastest way to unplug your antenna from the swarm and plug it into something steady. And it is not only for this week. The air stays heavy through the end of August, all the way through eclipse season, so make the rest a priority now, not a reward for after you survive it. Getting through it is the rest.
And tell me below. Where are you feeling the density, in your body, in your days? What is your antenna picking up that you have been carrying as if it were yours? Say it here. Somebody scrolling this feels exactly the same and thinks they are the only one.
The sky is saying a great deal at the moment, and eclipse season is right behind it. If there was ever a time to have your own chart read properly, it is now.
Stay luminous,
Emi
