1. Meetup This Thursday: How to Use thirdweb

2. Consensus Recap: A Hootin’ and Hollerin’ Good Time
Last week, ETH SD Founder ultrasoundchad saddled up and rode out to Austin for this year’s consensus. Let’s dive in.

The first day was full of solid events to get the conference kicked off. Here, ETH SD attended the Monad luncheon, the Rollux Launch at SkyBar, and the Keep Austin Web3 party by ATX DAO and Chainlink!

Day 2 brought a variety of events, and even golf was included in the mix. In addition to the stops named above, Drinks with Degods, Burgers at the Aptos House, and the Consensus 10 year party were on the itinerary.

Day 3 was a bit more relaxed, with a trip to the famous Terry Blacks BBQ and stopping by Soho House for Keep Bitcoin Weird. Shout out to Revolucion Coffee shop for the great drinks & fast WiFi!

3. Housekeeping Item: Luma Sunsets Communities for Calendars
If you’ve been poking around our beloved events platform, Luma, you may have noticed some slight UI changes. The Communities feature that serves as ETH SD’s Luma homepage is being sunsetted in exchange for the release of Calendars. Similar to Communities, Calendars will display all upcoming events for ETH SD. You can even subscribe to receive iCal updates when new events are released!

4. AI SD: Meetup Recap and Luma Calendar
It was great to see the exploding local interest in artificial intelligence and the crossover of curiosity from the ETH SD community at AI SD’s inaugural meetup on LLMs, GPT, and more.

1. Cosmos
Designed for cross-chain interoperability, Cosmos uses dev-friendly application components to integrate independent blockchains with the IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication) protocol.

Currently, there are more than 275 interchain apps and services in the Cosmos network. Cosmos is powered by the ATOM token. Blast off to the Cosmos here: cosmos.network/intro.

2. Sui
A newer L1 on the block(chain), Sui prioritizes asset ownership in addition to the user and developer experience. The chain supports a variety of low-cost and high-speed application development.

3. More Twitter Content Restrictions: Wordpress
Twitter’s content conquest continues. Announced Saturday, the no-code website platform WordPress said users will not be able to post automatically to Twitter with the Jetpack Social plugin.

The change resulted after Twitter modified the terms and pricing of it’s API, and negotiations between the companies ended fruitlessly. Read the full blog from Wordpress here.

1. See You in Court: Coinbase Lawyers Up Against SEC with New Action/Lawsuit, Responds to Wells notice
Shots fired, legally speaking. While Coinbase has been vocal about the policy issues facing crypto through upfront commentary and traditional advertising via commercials, the stakes have risen. Late last week, the company shared the details of the SEC’s Wells notice and published a formal response.

The exchange also launched their Stand With Crypto campaign last week, promoting citizen education and action towards legislative policy that is aligned with crypto organizations and users with commemorative NFTs. Did you mint, fren?

2. Ethereum’s Next Stop: Dencun
While the Shapella upgrade was a smashing success, Ethereum’s core dev team isn’t letting that get to their heads and are focused on the next big upgrade: Dencun (shortened from Cancun-Deneb). Last week, the EIPs included in the upgrade were finalized.

Slated to be completed this year, this upgrade will include highly-anticipated EIPs 4844 and 1153, containing Shard Blob Transactions and transient storage opcodes respectively.

3. First Republic Falls to Last Place
Last Friday, First Republic Bank’s share price hit around $3, down from $122.50 on March 1st. This is the third major bank this year to fail and be seized by the FDIC.

Yesterday, multiple outlets reported that a few big banks were submitting bids to buy First Republic by end of day, as not to create issues with customer deposits on Monday. Let’s hope they found a buyer.
