I get a lot of messages like this… “I really want to commit, but I’m going on holiday this week. Would I be better waiting until …”
I understand the thought process. But no. Because what are you actually waiting for?
A period where you have no holidays, weddings, meals out, busy weekends, stressful weeks or unexpected plans?
Good luck finding it…nor would you want it. Sounds quite boring really.
The problem with waiting until life is perfectly set up for you to ‘properly commit’ is that it’s not realistic. You are not learning how to get results while living your life.
That is just another yo-yo diet waiting to happen.
The goal of commit to 6 is to end yo-yo dieting that means you learn how to look after yourself while also having a life.
We want you to go on holiday, go on spontaneous dinner dates, eat nice food, manage stressful weeks, still look after yourself when your kids are off school
You need to stop seeing your life as something that gets in the way of your goals. Otherwise it always will.
There is no end date to looking after yourself so waiting for the perfect time to start makes no sense.
Waiting only makes it harder.
And if your approach only works when nothing else is going on, it doesn’t work. And you already know that.
Every time you wait for better circumstances, you reinforce the belief that you can only look after yourself when circumstances are good.
That’s a dangerous belief. It gives you an excuse to give up when life gets busy - which it always will.
Ultimately:
You don’t need a better time.
You need to change the way you see this.
Your life isn’t getting in the way of the plan.
Your life IS part of the plan.
And if the way you get results can’t coexist with the life you actually want to live, they were never going to be results you could keep anyway.
