Quick update today with what’s coming up.

All 2025 Meet Cute shows sold out, and because of that, I’m very happy to say: Meet Cute is officially back in 2026.

Two real strangers. One real blind date. Live on stage. No scripts. No safety net.

We’ve also refreshed the Meet Cute submission form for 2026 and are currently looking for dates for our February and March shows.

Also, right after Meet Cute, there are two great shows happening at DC Arts Center:

Femme&m Presents: She/They Came to Slay: This show will bring you standup, improv, and lots of laughs from femme & nonbinary comedians in the DC area.
Down the Rabbit Hole: An hour of magic and comedy with real magicians doing truly wild things.

Come for the blind date chaos, stay for the rest of the night.

If improv is your home base and sketch has always felt a little intimidating or mysterious, this class is built exactly for that moment.

Sketch Comedy for Improvisers is a four-session class focused on taking your improv instincts, characters, ideas, and strong initiations, and shaping them into finished sketches. We’ll break down structure, heightening, edits, and how to actually end a sketch without killing the fun. The class ends with a live showcase, so you’ll get to perform your work in front of an audience.

I’m excited to offer a one-time workshop called Play With Anyone.

This workshop is all about becoming a more confident, adaptable improviser, someone who can have a great scene regardless of who they’re paired with. We’ll work on tools for playing with big characters, quiet players, chaotic energy, minimal information, and everything in between. The goal is to leave feeling ready to play with anyone.

There’s a lot of excellent comedy happening around DC right now. Here are a few shows I’m not part of but genuinely recommend checking out.

Bad Medicine: Wish World. An ensemble, movie-inspired sketch comedy show centered on wishes coming true and wishes going spectacularly wrong. Tuesday, January 27 at 7:30 PM. DC Improv.

24 Hour Sketch Show. DC’s 3rd annual 24 Hour Sketch Show is a scripted comedy competition where 15 sketch comedy teams write and perform a brand-new sketch in just 24 hours. Audience votes, judges, bragging rights, a trophy, and a cash prize are all on the line. Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 7:00 PM. DC Arts Center.

Washington Improv Theater. A new month of weekend shows ffeaturing a wide range of formats, casts, and styles. Starting January 30. Studio Theatre
