to taste my honey

If I could share my honey, you would taste the layers of my heart that never reach my voice. Speaking feels like trying to catch sunlight with bare my hands…..some of it slips, some scatters, and some disappears before it even leaves me. My love is patient but impatient, full of motion yet trapped in the cage of unspoken words. Writing is where it finds freedom. On paper, everything aligns. Each one of my thoughts, each tremor of my feelings, is allowed to exist fully without interruption.

Its strange how quiet love can feel so loud when you cant share it directly. My deepest affections, the sublime awe I hold for life and the people I care for, often get lost in translation. I try to speak, and my words stumble, trailing off into fragments that cant carry the weight of what I feel. On paper, my sentences curve around themselves, hold themselves together, and speak the truth I cant otherwise deliver. Writing becomes my sanctuary, my confession, my offering.

Even in my writing, it can be bittersweet. Im aware that no one can ever consume the entirety of what I carry. The oceans of feeling inside me are vast, and I can only spill small cups at a time. Yet those small cups matter. Each word on the page becomes a vessel of what cant be spoken out loud, a record of my presence, a proof of the love that exists quietly, stubbornly, fiercely deep within me.

The difficulty deepens in conversation, in the heat of exchange, or when conflict rises. In the midst of discussions, my heart often moves faster than my voice, thoughts spiraling in layers that cant be untangled in real time. I catch myself wanting to express disappointment, concern, or longing, but the words never emerge as they should. By the time I find the right phrasing, the moment has shifted, leaving my truth behind. The weight of what I feel ruminates silently in my mind, playing like a song that others cant hear.

I wish we left love letters more often, notes tucked into pockets, postcards sent with mushy affirmations, little messages that lingered in the hands and hearts of each other. I imagine how the intimacy of paper could carry our feelings when speech falters and how the act of writing and sending could itself be a sacred exchange, a dance of patience and tenderness. Each note would be a fragment of the soul, sprayed in the scent of my current season, a small treasure to return to when the world feels too fast, too loud, too ungraspable. I like memories i can touch, feel, cherish. They take me back in time.

This inability to speak in the moment feels like both fragility and preservation. I protect my emotions from the risk of being misunderstood, from being carried away by passion or hurt, yet in doing so, I cage myself. The silence becomes a private space where my disappointment, my yearning, and my love coexist without judgment, yet its also a lonely chamber. Writing offers an escape from this, a way to articulate the inarticulable, to honor what I feel before it dissipates into thought alone.

It s a strange duality fr: I long for the intimacy of being understood in real time, yet I also cherish the private communion with my own words. Writing allows me to meet myself fully, without compromise, without interruption. It teaches me patience, tenderness, and the sacred art of bearing my own heart. The act of writing transforms pain into clarity, longing into expression, and love into something tangible.

Perhaps thats why I write so relentlessly. My honey, my essence, my truth, all find a home in sentences that I can control, shape, and release. They live beyond the limits of speech, beyond the interruptions, beyond the misinterpretations that happen when words leave the mouth before theyre ready. If my honey could be shared as freely by my voice as it is by my hands, love would feel less fragile, more present, more immediate.

Yet even as I write, I understand that this act of translating feeling into language is itself a kind of magic. The ineffable finds a form, the invisible becomes visible, and I learn to honor the spaces in between…the words I cant say, the depths I cant fully reveal, the silence that holds me together when the world cant. My writing, my sweet preservative honey, is a bridge to what I cant give otherwise. Its a way to be known, tasted, felt, curing, even when the fullness of my being cant be held.

I write because it is the only place where my love, my joy, my grief, my sweetness, my intellect, can exist completely. Its the closest I can come to sharing all of myself without fear, without interruption, without compromise. Its both my offering and my refuge, my proof and my prayer, a testament to what it means to feel deeply, endlessly, and without reservation. Slow like honey, for the ones sensitive enough to taste.
