We’ve been having the best trip. It’s been full of relaxation, family catch-ups, walks, runs, ocean dips (yes, even in the freezing cold), lots of coffee, great food, and the perfect amount of time to simply slow down.
We deliberately didn’t over-plan this trip, so it’s been nice deciding where to stay and what to do as we go. We’ve now spent two nights in Newcastle and it’s such a cool city. Historic buildings sit alongside beautiful new developments, a busy working port backs onto stunning beaches, and there’s this perfect mix of grit and gentrification that gives it so much character. They’re absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to food, coffee and natural beauty. Catching up with great people along the way has made the whole trip even more special.
Today we’re off to Coogee for our final night before flying home tomorrow. If the weather behaves, there’ll be coastal walks, coffees, pastries and plenty of relaxing with little Luce (who has honestly been an absolute dream). It feels like the perfect way to finish our road trip.
