It's once again the moment to write a quick overview of my last month.

Vacations

The month almost started with a few days off work. 11 days! I rested, read, watched TV, played New World, went hiking in the mountains with Patudo twice a day, did a few things I had been putting off for too long, and enjoyed the Le Mans 24 hour race. In the end you always want more, but it was a good break.

Health

At the beginning of the month I did a Holter to check the amount of premature ventricular contractions I still had. The preliminary results were not good. Even taking a beta-blocker, I registered 28,000 a day. That's about 30% of my heart contractions. An appointment with the cardiologist confirmed the scenario. The medication doesn't do much. At least not enough. I'm far from being able to live a 'normal' life for my age. From now on, my only hope is a successful cardiac ablation. There will be more tests over the next few months and I will be lucky if I can get an appointment for the ablation in less than a year. Arh...

Caddy

Caddy is a web server written in Go. It is an alternative to the most popular Apache and Nginx. I've tried it before, but always ended up using Nginx because is the one I'm more familiar with. But this month, for no particular reason other than curiosity, I finally made an honest effort to learn and use Caddy. It was surprisingly easy. The documentation is solid and the default options are perfectly fine for most of my use cases. I did have to do some custom configurations for Kirby, but once I understood Caddy's concepts, it was fairly straightforward.

Blog

No posts this month. Again! But I enjoyed some time working in the back. I've refactored some code and I'm now using the Staticache plugin to improve performance. However, the most visible change is the new contact form. The reply by email link in a post now leads to the form on the contact page, and I had the idea to pass the post title as a parameter, so that the subject field is automatically populated with it. The anti-spam feature was inspired by Kev and Manu's experience. I'm happy with the result, both in terms of functionality and aesthetics. Feel free to test that reply link and say Hi!
