Well I’m a bit of a drama queen, aren’t I? “Cute yes but they’re just jeans” my husband casually whispered as I came home giddy and excited telling him I could FINALLY stop looking and shopping for jeans.
But if like me you’ve spent long nights scrolling resale sites and years walking into dressing rooms convinced this would finally be THE pair only to come out feeling like your legs and your waist and YOUR entire body were the problem, I’m sure you know what I mean.
I’m still convinced only two categories of women exist: the ones who have their jeans, the ones they owned for “hum idk forever” and somehow still look incredibly good every time they wear them, and the rest of us.
Here’s how the rest of us live: buying another pair because the rise isn’t quite right after a meal, returning another one because the pockets make everything look off, wondering over and over WHY this exact same pair of jeans looks so effortless and and pretty and cute and obvious on someone else..
Because don’t kid yourself. I have jeans, I have good jeans and cute jeans. I have a couple pairs that look amazing if I survive on nothing but air all day. I have long ones that make my ass pop as long as I’m wearing heels. I have another one, great wash, great denim that suddenly weighs 10 extra pounds the second I have to walk more than two blocks. I have jeans. I didn’t have my jeans.
