It goes like this:
Moon is in me-me-me Aries, looking to get something started. Not now, but RIGHT NOW. Its crusading, nothing-is-impossible drive is supported by all the planets in the Barbault Basket Case in the wee hours, as Moon sextiles Pluto, meets up with Neptune and sextiles Uranus between 12 AM ET and 2 AM ET. It’s all going swimmingly, as Moon trines Jupiter at 6:20 AM ET -- wheeee -- and a trine between Moon and Sun at 1:24 PM ET suggests a steady burn.
And yes, I appreciate that a steady burn may not be a happy thing if we’re talking about trees and temperatures.
Speaking of the land and Mother Earth, at 4:10 PM ET, Chiron the Wounded Healer goes retrograde in Taurus, where it may bring a wound involving Mother Earth into sharper focus. Watch the headlines -- especially with Moon meeting up with Saturn the Heavy at 7:21 PM ET.
Moon squares Mercury at 10:16 AM ET. Whatever comes out of a charged conversation may quickly become a crusade, as Moon sextiles Mars at 2:51 PM ET. If passions run away with the next eight hours, they’ll be doing so while Moon is void.
You know the Moon void drill: stick to routine concerns, e.g., editing, organizing, and revisiting old projects. Avoid major launches and other actions you hope will have lasting significance. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. CHILL!
At 11:51 PM ET, Moon enters Taurus, leaving Fire for Earth. Now is the time for building security, enjoying life’s simple pleasures, and preserving what matters. Excellent for your quest for world domination.
Moon in Taurus squares Pluto at 5:43 AM ET, then Jupiter at 12:33 PM ET. Watch for power plays, exaggeration, and self-righteous certainty in the early part of the day. Not every hill is worth dying on...but go figure.
At 10:51 PM ET, the Third Quarter Moon finds Sun and Moon squaring off in stubborn Leo and Taurus. The phrase that comes to mind is “loyalty test.” A Leo king may demand one. A Taurus Moon gets to decide whether maintaining the status quo out of comfort or habit is still worth the price.
That got me thinking about Jeanine Pirro’s daring decision to drop the vandalism case against Olympic athlete David Hearn after prosecutors concluded that His Magasty’s pool guy -- the no-bid contractor who turned the Reflecting Pool into an algae-infested swamp -- was the responsible party. The announcement landed in Friday night’s news dump, under a go-with-the-flow Pisces Moon, as Heather Cox Richardson explains here and here. I’m not convinced we’ve heard the end of it. Pirro’s boss is not happy. [UPDATE: we haven’t heard the end of it, based on a presser in the Oval Office today].
Then my mind wandered to the nomination of the White House occupant’s criminal defense attorney, Todd Blanche, as U.S. Attorney General. Did you know that “Blanche” is French for “White?” I don’t know who is writing this never-ending surreality TV show, but they do have a way with words. Anyhoo, now former Senate holdouts Thom Tillis and John Cornyn -- who are leaving their posts at the end of the year and have nothing to lose but their souls -- are saying they are all-in for the Acting AG who refuses to release the Epstein files, as required by law.
You are more personally affected by the loyalty test potential of the Third Quarter Moon if you have planets around 13 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius. That includes...Todd Blanche, John Cornyn, and -- oh -- hello! David Hearn. Meanwhile, Cornyn, Blanche and Tillis are all under the collective squeeze of transiting Saturn in their respective horoscopes. Questions of duty, accountability, allegiance, and control become even harder to ignore.
And now, a brief digression...
I wrote the forecast for Wednesday before discovering that Beth Owl’s Daughter’s always-in-sync Tarot Card of the Week is...the Seven of Wands. Again! With another appearance by a clarifying card...the Five of Swords. Whoa!
Beth has much to say about why these two keep jumping out of her deck. Like this:
And because I am convinced these matters are no longer about politics; they are about morality and the survival of civilized culture.

Beth’s emphasis on character immediately reminded me of something I wrote in May 2025 about the Sabian Symbol for 29 Pisces—The Great Stone Face. I’d written about it before, on a total eclipse in March 2015, the last one before Everything Changed.
I find it instructive to look back on past forecasts and see how they have aged.
The Great Stone Face was a landmark that has since collapsed. It is also a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and it is about character. Here’s the link to that forecast. You’ll find the part about character below the horoscope of Qatar, along with a link to Hawthorne’s story.
“Character,” as Lord John Whorfin famously said in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension, “is what you are in the dark.”
I am convinced that this film is a documentary.

Back to the forecast:
A banner day, perhaps -- for those behind the wheel of the bus. Taurus Moon has all the patience and stamina in the world to build an everlasting structure -- and it’s not inclined to rock the boat. It travels without interference all day, pausing only to coordinate an intuitive hit on home and/or homeland security around 7:24 PM ET, as it sextiles Mercury. You could take the rest of the night off, as the Moon goes void for the next seven hours.
Meanwhile, matters of women, money, the arts, and all that we hold dear are at a crisis point of discernment. Why? Venus is at the very end of perfection-seeking Virgo -- and any planet at that point can’t help but make some noise. At 3:12 PM ET, however, Venus changes for the better -- huzzah -- when she enters Libra, one of the signs she rules. Oh happy day, as social graces, peace and harmony once more become fashionable — at least until September 10. Beautifying your home? Doing anything artistic or cosmetic? Working out kinks in a relationship? Initiating a project that requires great diplomacy? Great! Venus in Libra is happy to accommodate these goals.
Finally, at 10:44 PM ET, the Leo Sun trines Saturn in “because I said so” Aries This easy flow between willpower and authority could reflect a culmination and/or a consolidation of power that generates little resistance. You are more personally affected if you have planets around 14 degrees of just about any sign, but especially the cardinal ones -- Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Off the top of my head that includes the US, George W. Bush, NATO, Elon Musk, Steve Bannon, and -- oh -- you again? -- Olympian David Hearn.
Last, but not least, Mercury returns to 26 Cancer -- where it was 1000 years ago, when it turned retrograde on June 12th. Our summer review is over -- we can now focus on new ways of thought and communication. If a story that made news around June 12 is finally resolved, that would be astro-logical. Horoscopes affected include the US, Kamala Harris...and Jeanine Pirro and David Hearn!
At 2:17 AM ET, Moon enters Gemini, driving the day with a quest for information, and thanks to Mercury out of its shadow phase, perhaps it’s...all NEW! Moon’s trine to Venus at 2:57 AM ET is oh-so-sweet. Support to the Moon from Neptune and Pluto around 9 AM ET adds depth to your dreams upon waking. A surprise or other disruption shows up around 10:51 AM ET, as Moon meets up with chaos agent Uranus. Then it’s buzz, buzz, buzz for the rest of the day, with an expansive boost -- or boast -- through a sextile to Jupiter in proud Leo. Show off your stuff.
More of the same, as Gemini Moon continues its search for information and entertainment. The only two contacts Moon makes today are cooperative ones: a sextile to Saturn (structure, controls) and a sextile to Sun (willpower, leaders), exact at 2:29 AM ET and 4:29 AM ET.
There’s no Moon void to discourage your yard-sale bargain hunting—and there should be plenty to talk about, as Gemini Moon stirs up a storm, for better or worse.
Landfall -- as it were -- happens around 1:27 AM ET, when Moon meets up with Mars, which is days away from its ingress into Cancer. What does that mean? It means that Mars -- the energy of action and assertion -- is likely to intensify efforts to attack or defend, using words (Gemini) as a weapon (Mars). You are more personally affected by this assertive drive over the next few days if you have planets around 29 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces...as well as the early degrees of Cancer, Aries, Libra, and Capricorn. That includes Rudy Giuliani, Pete Hegseth, Ted Cruz, Alexei Navalny, William Shatner, Adam Schiff, Elizabeth Warren, for starters.
After a two hour void you’ll barely notice, Moon enters Cancer at 3:45 AM ET. Other than aggressive Mars buzzing in the background, you could color the next few days in various shades of rose. Moon squares Venus at 8:11 AM ET, possibly confusing a temporary discomfort with lasting dissatisfaction. The confusion is courtesy of Moon’s square to Neptune at 10:30 AM ET, encouraging imagination, compassion, -- and perhaps a touch of escapism. Pay attention to your dreams, and focus on fortifying ideals of emotional and home security.
A reality check hits around 3:30 AM ET, as Moon squares Saturn—and goes void for the next 25 hours. Are you on vacation this week? Good for you. While a Moon void in Cancer is said to be less of a bust than Moon voids in other signs, you could still honor the Moon void coping strategy and CHILL.
Meanwhile, a high-functioning Venus trines (harmonizes with) Pluto at 2:08 PM ET, making a noticeable impact on money, values, women, and social expression. A need for peace—or simply an escape route—is suggested around 6:01 PM ET, as Venus opposes Neptune. Could be romance. Could be fraud. We’ll see both in the news, I’m sure.
