On Sunday I wrote about the booking channel that is quietly growing faster than any other, and about why villas, retreat centers, and small independent properties are so often invisible to it. The response made something clear to me, which is that a great many of you recognized your own property in that essay and want to know the practical next step.

The reason an advisor has never booked your property is rarely that they dislike it. It may genuinely be they’ve never heard of it or if they found it online; they could not evaluate it quickly enough to act. An advisor planning a client trip is working through a shortlist under real time pressure, and every property on that list has to answer three questions in about two minutes. Does this fit my client, can I book it, and what do I earn. When the answers are scattered across a website, a consumer brochure, and an inquiry form that takes three days to return, your property simply comes off the list, and you never learn it was on it.
