Most of the debate around agentic coding is about tooling – which IDE, which model, which CLI to use, and so on. Much less attention goes to a more interesting question: does the way we’ve been taught to structure code even make sense when the thing writing it has limited long-term memory, a finite context window, and often has to make progress without holding the whole system in view?
