Well done America! And a big thanks to physicians and businesses who sold us the endless benefits of cannabis! You guys really nailed it!
It turns out that marijuana use now exceeds cigarette use in the US.
Obviously, I’m not saying smoking tobacco is good for you. But, back in the day we had chain smoking NASA engineers, combat soldiers, heart surgeons, pilots, coal miners, sailors, oil rig workers and all the rest.
They might have died of lung cancer and COPD, but they had things to show for it.
I know I’m a bit jaded here. I tend to see the worst of things since I work in the ER. But I see some ‘badness’ when it comes to weed. Folks smoke all day long, they use high potency THC vapes and edibles. They smoke while pregnant and breast feeding. They smoke driving and they smoke at work.
They use it with medical cards and without. (And my sense is, it ain’t that hard to get a medical card.)
Now cannabis has left us with generations of anxious folks who develop non-stop vomiting, can’t focus or follow through on a plan, can’t get an education or hold a job, struggle to care for their spouses and children and end up schizophrenic in psych facilities. They’ve been sold a lie that because THC is ‘natural,’ it would help with their anxiety and assorted mental illnesses, while all along it was making everything worse.
And they still have chronic pain (and glaucoma).
They still have anxiety.
And yes, they’re addicted.
A real win…
