Edward Calame · Edward’s Journal

As we get closer to the runoff election on Tuesday, I want to share my final thoughts and what’s going through my mind right now……

Obviously we were dealt a very dirty hand by the party of Satan, the Democrat party. We didn’t get the choices we wanted in some cases but now, it has come down to this.

The race for Governor, Edward’s Journal is on record as endorsing Mike Mazzei for Governor. Getner Drummond has made way too many contributions to the Democrat party, including Pedo Joe Biden for me to trust him. He has also misused and abused his.powers as Attorney General to go after farmers and ranchers. Those of you who follow this blog know that I am a stubborn advocate for agriculture (I am also a stubborn advocate for oil and gas.) so this issue really matters to me.

From this post on Facebook:

Gentner Drummond says he “always tells you the truth.” So why does he try to silence farmers and ranchers who tell theirs?

After Oklahoma rancher Kindsey Peper spoke out about Drummond’s poultry lawsuit and its threat to agriculture, Drummond personally emailed her: “You have been fed a lie. I am disappointed. You should know better.”

Really, Gentner?

Farmers followed the rules and the law. Yet Drummond kept pursuing a decades-old lawsuit that put farm contracts, livelihoods, and thousands of jobs at risk. The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association even withdrew it’s endorsement after raising concerns about his lawsuit.

Instead of listening to farmers and ranchers worried about losing everything, Drummond lectures them and calls them liars.

Even our current Governor Kevin Stitt is no fan of Drummond. He has accused him of using his office for cheap political gain.

If you will remember folks, President Trump won ALL 77 counties in the 2016, 2020 and 2024 Presidential elections. I wonder what Drummond would do if he were Governor, would he go after those who voted for President Trump. I might also that Drummond not only is on record supporting Flock Cameras, he also is on record supporting Oklahoma City PD after one of their own assaulted an elderly Vietnameese Veteran who ended up dying from those injuries.

I’m NOT so sure I want someone running the state who thinks it’s a good idea to have our local law enforcement violating people’s 4th Amendment rights like this. In past op-eds I have addressed the numerous misuses of flock cameras by law enforcement and concerns about how they're would be used by police officers with Trump Derangement Syndrone to find out where Trump supporters like me live. (One of my recent op-eds addressed Oklahoma City's approval of the extension of their contract with flock cameras.)

So, for those and other reasons including his ongoing fight against agriculture, (Remember folks, you eat something, you’re part of agriculture like it or not.) I will vote for Mike Mazzei for Governor on Tuesday.

Now let’s talk about the race for State Superintendent, Let the record show that Edward’s Journal endorses James Taylor for State Superintendent. The problem I have with Robert Franklin is that he has a whole host of issues that make him unfit to become State Superintendent, one of which involves an incident in which he hurt a special needs child.

Franklin also stated in the Superintendent’s debate that DEI is a “biblical principle” and he won’t stand against it. He is also on record as endorsing the book “Separation of Church and Hate" — a book that claims the right hijacked Christianity and backs abortion and LGBTQ causes. In addition, Franklin was also a registered Democrat posting left wing talking points.

Those issues I have just outlined are more than enough for me to disqualify him from being State Superintendent. I will vote for James Taylor on Tuesday.

And finally, we get to the two state questions, 844 and 846. Both those questions include the words “the Legislature shall determine at a later time". Given how sleazy the powers that be up at N.E. 21st and Lincoln are, I’m NOT so sure I would trust them with ANY power whatsoever, especially with NO TRANSPARENCY and NO CLARITY. For those reasons, I am voting NO on both state questions.

Those are just a few of the items up for votes in the runoff elections. Early voting continues to from 8 AM to 6 PM today and 8 AM to 2 PM Saturday. Polls are open Tuesday from 7 AM to 7 PM. Make sure to get out and vote in this very important runoff election.
