Africa is a unique place to travel and work. I appreciate the friendships that I have formed there.
Seven years ago, right before COVID, I made two trips to the continent. I spoke approximately 20 times.
I heard a lot about Western colonialism from the people who were the object of the economic exploitation and extraction of natural resources that took place.
I went with an open mind and heart towards the men and women who had invited me to serve alongside of them.
I left with a clear conviction about the future of Africa. I saw Africa stand on its own. I left committed to the development of African organizations, with African leaders, funded with African money.
