2003’s Everyone Down Here is finally available to stream and purchase...

There’s way too much to say about this album. Simply put...i think it’s my favorite of em all. It’s far from perfect... but in some ways it’s absolutely perfect. It’s what was happening at the time, and it’s true.

Some major life “uh oh, time to grow up” shit came my way (and my friends & family’s way) in the early 2000’s. Ariana and I had split up. The band was supposedly broken up? We lost our dear friend Doug Kratz. Left us...way too fucking soon. And 911 happened! That was a lot to handle in my early-mid 20’s. Lots of uncertainty and fear. i had absolutely ZERO tools to help me navigate and cope with shit back then...other than alcohol and music. They both came in very handy. Used liberally.

It was a pretty dark period for me to say the least... and the songs that came out of that, naturally reflected those emotions. i started to write songs on the piano for the first time...and that really accelerated the shift from those early-EARLIMART days... weirdo punk shit tryin to do my best FRANK BLACK.

The piano just made things sound...sad.

And i was sad.

I had no idea that these sad songs would make up the record that would eventually get us a record deal... and the chance to travel, perform and write/record for a living! To really just be thrown into the deep-end of life... and to start swimming. Insane!

Out of all that sorrow...something beautiful and hopeful emerged. Life is crazy that way.

So yes... i owe a lot to this record, and everyone who helped make it. This album catapulted me into having a very full life of music...from which i continue to receive ALL the promises to this very day! joy. love. work. magic.
