Remember that sneaky little Google Search Console trick I shared a little while back? The one for finding out whether you were showing up in Google’s AI answers, where you had to filter and squint and basically play detective?
Well, Google just made our lives easier. 🙌
As of June 3rd, there’s a brand-new Generative AI performance report rolling out right inside Search Console.
Translation: instead of hacking your way to the data, you get a dedicated view showing exactly how often your pages pop up inside AI Overviews and AI Mode. No more guessing whether AI search even knows you exist.
Here’s the tiny catch: Google’s rolling this out slowly, so you might not see it yet.
→ Full transparency: we don’t see it in our own account yet either! So if your tab isn’t there, you’re in very good company. We’re keeping our eyes peeled and you should too. Heres how:
Go take a look:
Open Google Search Console and click into your website.
Click “Performance,” then “Search results” (your home base for all things ranking.)
Look for a “Generative AI” view or tab. If it’s there, jackpot. You’ll see impressions, your top pages, and which countries are finding you through AI.
Don’t see it yet? No sweat. Use the search-query filter trick from before to spot your AI appearances the old-fashioned way until your turn comes around.
What does this mean?? Google is officially treating AI search as its own thing worth measuring. That means your visibility in AI answers is now something you can watch, track, and grow on purpose, instead of crossing your fingers and hoping.
