Here are my 5 selections for the month:

#Deep House #House

Last month, while catching a set by Rafa Santos and Sama Yax, I asked Rafa for a track ID—he smiled and handed me a promo of this, still unreleased at the time. Dancefloor-ready jazzy cuts, straight to the point. As Mate says, they don’t try to beat the original deep house blueprint—just add a bit of color, always keeping soul and musicality at the center.

#Contemporary Jazz #Afrobeat

New album by one of my favorite contemporary jazz bands, if we even need to label them. Chasing Shadows expands their palette—more vocals, more groove-driven tracks, but still rooted in that tight band chemistry. Horns, broken rhythms, afro touches, everything moving with purpose. It’s a big record without feeling heavy, and you can tell they’ve grown into their sound.

#Jazz Fusion

Fell in love with this album through “Heather”—one of those smooth, beautiful tracks that pulls you in straight away. Then the rest hits and you realise what you’re in for. Billy Cobham leading from the drums, with George Duke, the Brecker brothers… serious players. It moves between heavy fusion workouts and more laid-back moments without losing direction.

#Disco

One of the key cuts from Adventures in the Land of Music, and you can hear why it became their biggest hit—Top 10 on the R&B charts back then. Strings, bass, vocals all locked in that Solar Records sound. Clean, uplifting, and built for the floor without losing that soulful touch.

#Italo House #Ambient

This almost ambient mix takes Mr. Marvin’s “Entity” somewhere softer—pads, space, everything opening up. There’s a calm, positive feel to it that works perfectly at the start or end of a night. No surprise José Padilla picked it up in Ibiza and helped give it a wider reach.
