Daniel Rezac · The Dual Lens

For my second video for my cinema channel: The Film Tourist, I took it upon myself to not just visit the Home Alone locations, but, in some cases, insert myself directly into the same scenes where Kevin McCallister explored and endured his ongoing battle with the Wet Bandits.

Join me on this cinematic journey through Chicago’s northern suburbs, as I (painstakingly) recreate and share what I discovered behind the scenes of one of cinema's most enduring Christmas tales, Chris Columbus’ Home Alone (1990)

Some of my favorite places in this journey? Walking through Terminal 3 at O’Hare, where the McCallister family rushed to make their departure. Also, check out my shot in the aisle of Grand Foods, as I push my shopping cart in the exact same spot Kevin did during his shopping scene. Also, I received a personal tour of the interior of the church in Oak Park where Kevin had his chat with Old Man Marley. After 35 years– this church hasn’t changed one bit.

There’s so much more to come. Next up? Ferris Bueller’s Day Off!
