2. 2026 World Championship Jetboat Races – Volunteer Briefing

The Jetboat Races run 2026-05-08 through 2026-05-17, with venues spanning Black Canyon Reservoir, the Payette River, Salmon River, Snake River, and St. Joe River. Ham radio operators are needed as safety boat communicators. A safety meeting is scheduled for 2026-05-08 at 18:00 MDT at the Roadhouse at the Mill (520 W. Main St., Emmett). Key discussion points include frequency assignments (VHF/UHF repeaters plus simplex on 146.52, 146.54, 146.56, 146.58, and 146.40), equipment requirements (mobile radios with independent power supply strongly encouraged), tactical call procedures, and checklist documentation for race boat tracking.
