Win for PFAS - The Lever
⚖️ PFAS payouts roll out. In a victory for community safety, chemical industry giants 3M and DuPont are finally chipping in to clean up water systems contaminated with their cancerous industrial byproducts. The payouts stem from a 2018 multidistrict litigation against the companies contaminating groundwater with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), or “forever chemicals,” for decades, even though they knew the chemicals were toxic. The settlements — amounting to $6 billion so far, the largest in U.S. history — will help providers remove forever chemicals from water sources, costs that would otherwise fall to taxpayers, ratepayers, and investors.

Perhaps the most common color-related issue I see in visualization is that colorful elements are packed too tightly together with no separation.
