The season is nearing its turning. About everything that blooms in the garden has done its summer show. Green is still the rule but there are signs of the Big Change coming on.

This is the time of year when there is usually a book project actively in progress and loosed from the gardener’s constant hovering, the garden makes a run for wildness. So let us all seize our brief unsupervised moment and romp untamed while we still have the stuff for it, exuberant with fierce and unruly dreams. May, for this little while, the same extravagant imagination possess and enliven both garden and gardener.
