We’re at that stage of August where the light begins to lean into fall. Summer is still holding firm, but barely. Evenings have a lot in common with September.
Change rides on the air. Everyone is alight with the expectation that something big is coming. We know that most of our anticipations are disappointed, but not all of them, so, against all logic and recent experience, we are hopeful anyway.
The something big that we suspicion, if and when it arrives, may not be anything we might want if we are soundminded, but sometimes getting what we want is the worst thing than can happen to us and sometimes, by luck or by grace, if there is a difference, the big thing we never wanted or sought after imposes our salvation.
Personally, I believe that God means all us creatures well, and that however much we resist and avoid Joy, she will eventually have her way with us. If you don’t believe in God, don’t turn loose your hope. God believes in us and that is our deliverance.
Walk in hope-
