If you know me, you know I’m not chasing “anti-aging.”
I’m chasing graceful aging.
In Chinese medicine, beautiful skin isn’t something you buy in a bottle. It’s a reflection of how well your body is nourished, how your circulation is flowing, how much inflammation you’re carrying, and how resilient your body is from the inside out.
Yes, I love a good skincare routine. But if that’s all we’re focusing on, we’re missing the bigger picture.
Here are the four things I never skip for healthy, glowing skin.
Cosmetic acupuncture has been one of my favorite treatments for years because it works with your skin, not against it.
Tiny acupuncture needles create micro-stimulation that helps increase circulation, encourages collagen production, relaxes facial muscles, and supports your skin’s natural repair process. At the same time, we’re treating the rest of the body, your digestion, stress levels, hormones, and sleep, because they all show up on your face.
It’s one of the most holistic approaches to skin health I know. Check out Felice Acupuncture in Los Angeles and book HERE.
One of the reasons we created Moonbow is because I wanted skincare that reflected the philosophy of Chinese medicine.
Instead of simply masking redness or dryness, Chinese herbs have been used for centuries to calm reactivity, support the skin barrier, and help the skin find balance. Healthy skin is less inflamed, more resilient, and ultimately ages better.
When your skin barrier is happy, everything else tends to work better too.
One of the biggest beauty secrets in Chinese culture has always been food.
Some of my favorite skin-supportive foods include:
Tremella mushrooms for hydration
Goji berries to nourish the Blood
Peach gum for a healthy glow
Bone broth to provide the building blocks for healthy skin
Your skin is constantly rebuilding itself. The nutrients you eat become the building blocks for that process.
This is probably the habit that surprises people the most.
A few minutes of gua sha each day can help improve circulation, encourage lymphatic drainage, release tension we hold in our jaw and forehead, and reduce morning puffiness.
The key isn’t doing it perfectly. It’s doing it consistently.
Like most things in Chinese medicine, small daily habits create the biggest long-term changes.
I don’t believe wrinkle-free skin comes from one miracle product or one expensive treatment.
It comes from lowering inflammation, nourishing your body, supporting circulation, managing stress, sleeping well, eating foods that feed your skin, and creating rituals you can actually stick with.
That’s the beauty of Chinese medicine.
It reminds us that skin isn’t separate from the rest of the body. When your body is thriving, your skin often reflects it. And that’s the kind of glow that no filter can recreate.
