Hola Weaver!
It is with great pleasure that i’m writing this introduction to Dreamweaving…
My personal dream for this whole publication & it’s driving focus along with my upcoming cycle trip from Alaska to Argentina is to touch, move, inspire & support you in the creation, embodiment of your personal Dream in life whatever that may be
I believe that we all have a golden thread connected to our hearts pulling us lovingly through life…
It manifests the situations, people, chance occurrences, insights & realisations needed to pursue & realise our personal desires & passions in life
When we can do this it is the recipe for the beautiful & highly unique song of our soul to sing to it’s heart’s content
Following this thread means that we are never too late, never too early - we are always bang on time for what is meant for us
Following this thread means engaging with mystery, synchronicity, constant surprise & trust in the wonder of this earth paradise that somehow we’ve found ourselves in…
Following this thread means living a life guided by love, ever moving closer to the realisation of the true & authentic Self
The Weave
I recently read an absolutely phenomenal book called Braiding Sweetgrass by Potawatomi professor Robin Wall Kimmerer which will a beautiful expose of the amazing practices of some of the indigenous cultures in North America along with the tragic destruction of their way of life through the slow death of of colonialism.
Being indigenously raised come university trained botanist Robin brings together a unique weave of spirituality & science, heart & mind into an incredibly rich tapestry of a book with one of the undercurrents being the weaving together of culture, ethics, ancient & modern & much more through the essence of sweetgrass - I can highly recommend & it is what inspired me to get going with my own weave
Since time in memorial we have been weaving - literally through the structures of baskets to carry our fruits, fabrics to keep us warm, roofs to keep us dry but also metaphorically through our stories, our beliefs, our individual & cultural values, our emotional framework, our communities & society at large
All is woven in patterns of relationship - to be human is to be in relationship with self, with other, with the earth, elements & spirits
We weave the archetypal threads of what it is to be human through the fabric of our lives & in doing so we continue those archetypal threads for the coming generations of humanity as those who came before us have done for us
Co creating with all those before us, with us & ahead of us, intersecting with every other golden thread to weave the gorgeous - & highly varied tapestry of humanity
When we weave our dream it is not about us - when we follow the path of our love we are participating in a much larger lineage of creation contributing with love to that which it is to be human
Which I believe at it’s core is to love - I mean why else are we here? What’s the point really if not that?
So we dream our weave & are woven in turn into something bigger than ourselves, aligning to a life of joy, happiness & abundance in all areas through the journey
Here is a clip of the opening sequence of the Wheel Of Time which shows a damn good weave on a somewhat spicy loom if I do say so myself;
Wheel Of Time is siiiiick by the way - think somewhere between Game Of Thrones & LOTR but with more magic, blood & sex with a great juxtaposition on most other fantasy stories by having the women characters largely holding the power - Really holding back the urge to derail this post right now & do an archetypal breakdown 😆
Personal Archetypal Creation
Each choice, action & intention is like a stitch in the tapestry - What story do you choose to weave in this tapestry?
Our dreams are blueprints for our lives often fuelled by archetypal influences
Archetypes (mother, father, king, warrior, magician, hermit, alchemist) serve a organising psychological principles that govern & shape who we are, what we do & how we navigate through life - as well as carrying the coding for our dream’s path
When we can discover our archetypes & organise our lives around embodying & fulfilling our expression of them whilst navigating the shadow qualities they bring they serve as a map towards our dream/fate/karmic destiny in life
They are also kind of like bridges to our conscious & unconscious realities as well - forming the weave of our inner world
When we work on our inner weave our outer weave tends to organise itself - many times as if by magic!
Collective Tapestry
Dreams don’t exist in isolation - they intersect with community, family & society
Community acts as intersecting threads that strengthen & support one another helping individual dreams survive & flourish
Our weaves can be deeply personal as well as communal - Forming a golden web of dreamers dreaming their love into existence
A really big & important step when it comes to dreamweaving is identifying your Dream Team - who will support you in this journey?
Who might not be such a constructive ally in helping you move your dreams forward?
Who is walking the same path & may be a good partner or partners in your dream if dreaming in the same or similar directions?
Would it benefit you to do a Dream Team audit to ensure that your golden support web is strong & enduring?
Elements Of The Weave
We’ve got our golden thread which we can see as the essence or core purpose of the dream
We’ve set up our loom representing life’s structure’s & support…
Our pattern is the dream’s unfolding trajectory
& we’re bound to get some knots in there somewhere or have a loom breakdown from time to time!
The weave is rarely linear & challenges will crop up along the way - usually the very challenges required for us to rise to the level to meet our dreams & aspirations
So if we get a knot - Ok, maybe we need to do something differently
If our loom breaks down - maybe we need an upgrade or new loom entirely!
There’s a great scene in the film The Straight Story whereby an elderly gent wants to travel accross the state to see his estranged brother who has had a heart attack.
He tries to do it on a dodgery old lawn mower that breaks down 5 miles down the road but it dosn’t dishearten him - he comes back & gets himself a more solid John Deere tractor to do the job!
If we can marry our intuition with strategic planning then we can hopefully see the obstacles ahead of time & prep accordingly whilst being bolstered for the unforeseen potholes that will inevitably show up in the process…
Mystery & Surrender
Man plans, god laughs! It’s so true… I’m not against planning, in fact, I love it! But have learned the tighter & more rigid I make - or hold onto a plan the higher the likelihood that i’ll end up with egg on my face
So have learned that - for me personally - a loosely held & adaptable plan tends to work better than no plan or a rigid plan
Things change, sometimes very quickly - If we hold on then we may be missing a trick or our plan & direction becomes outdated
With no plan there is no directional focus to allow synchronicity, support, guidance & help to arrive
Dreamweaving can be an unbelievably beautiful journey if we can relinquish our control & attachment to the outcome so that life, the universe, the spirit can take over & organise it for us - often in the funniest, most leftfield & unexpected ways!
Life is pretty good at that I find & is not fully predictable - many threads are hidden, invisable or emergent
Dreamweaving often requires letting go of rigid control & learning to trust what is emerging
Imperfections & ‘unfinished edges’ are part of the artistry, not failures
I see the dream as being partially in the unknown & a cocreation between us & powers that want our dream to be realised - of which I am learning there are MANY mysterious powers & influences that want nothing but the highest good for us & to birth our creations into the world
We often just need to let go a little bit so life can indeed help us on the journey
Alchemy
Our golden thread is not always a very easy thread to follow - in fact I believe that when we commit to walking this path it is an invitation for tests to roll in thick & fast!
We often have challenging internal mechanisms & dynamics often rooted in trauma & based in survival keeping us small whilst contending with a crazy ass world that is rigged by design to prevent us from following the light of our souls - So up against a lot…
Although I steadfastly believe - as i’ve seen in myself & in many others - the struggles we encounter through life are seeded with that first golden thread of the dream whilst giving us a few bunches of wool fresh for the loom
If we can learn to see & appreciate our challenges as the alchemical forge presenting us with the exact substance needed to grow then there is the potential to become the alchemist & transform that base lead into gold in our lives
In other words flowers grow best in shit! 💩😂
I’m super stoked you’re here - this is a co-creative composting gold fermenting journey of love whereby i’ll be sharing everything I possibly can to help you bring your dream into being & make your love manifest in the world
Because it’s needed! Especially right now…
If everyone in our world followed their dream how do you think it might look?
If we dream of creating a better tomorrow I feel a good place to start is with our own hearts, tending & nourishing that which is housed within our treasure chests…
I hope you injoyed this lil kick off - i’ve got tonnes of material to come & feeling to go in a bit more of a nuts n boltsy direction next opening a dialogue around structure for the dream & working with the numerous internal blockages that can get in the way of our weave
See you soon & big Love
