Doug Jones · Doug for Alabama

Folks,

If you’re one of the thousands of people who have contributed to my campaign, I would like to take a moment to thank you. Every single contribution that comes through brings us one step closer to defeating Tommy Tuberville and finally building a government that works for the people of Alabama.

But in my opinion, gratitude isn’t enough. I think you deserve an explanation of where your money is going.

First and foremost, we are raising money to stand up to Tommy Tuberville’s $8 million “cash on hand” war chest. When it comes to fundraising, a lot of big numbers get thrown around, but that one is pretty simple: Tuberville has millions of dollars sitting in the bank that he’s going to spend flooding the airwaves with hateful TV ads in an attempt to buy this election through fear.

Catching up to that war chest and buying TV ads to stop Tuberville from drowning out our message is one of the biggest reasons I have to keep asking people for money, however much I might hate doing it.

But political campaigns—especially ones like ours—aren’t built on TV ads alone. They also come down to a ton of little things.

We’re running a huge field operation, one of the biggest in Alabama history. We’re holding town halls in every corner of the state. We’re training volunteers and canvassers to knock on thousands of doors and make thousands of calls. We’re sending out mailers and yard signs to get the word out. We are meeting Alabamians where they are, no matter what political party they belong to or what part of the state they live in.

And when I say the little things, I mean it. Your contributions help us pay for things like:

  • Rent and utilities for our campaign offices

  • Reservation fees, chairs, microphones, and audio equipment for town halls

  • Yard signs, mailers, and campaign literature

  • Gas and travel expenses to keep our organizers on the road

  • Water and supplies for volunteers out knocking doors

  • Coffee for long nights

  • Umbrellas for rainy days

We’re going to beat Tuberville by showing up, talking to ordinary Alabamians, and earning their votes. Can you make a contribution today to help us pay for the little things and keep our campaign running?

SUPPORT MY CAMPAIGN

Thank you,

Doug Jones
