dress is vintage, but I’ve found similar here and here. these are my new shoe obsession and these sunnies are some i’ve been reaching for constantly.

If nothing else, I am a millennial. An elder millennial technically, I guess, but a millennial nonetheless. And millennials are notorious for our love of brunch. In fact, depending on who you ask, we might love it too much. But that’s neither here nor there.

Having spent a week or so already in Austin, TX with my family, we’ve had a good run of quality, Texas-sized brunches. (I can’t wait to share a recap with you of my favorite places!).

And one of my favorite parts of brunch is styling the perfect brunch outfit. I usually opt for dresses (like this or this) because they’re comfy and easy to style, which is exactly what I need before noon.

So grab an iced coffee (or a Paloma), and let’s get into it.

LBD - Brunch Edition
arguably, coffee is THE most important brunch accessory

I love a simple, flowy black dress moment. They make a perfect base for summer accessories, and if you happen to be a sweaty betty like me in a warm climate, then the black is very forgiving. Here, here, and here are some finds I’ve been loving.

Paired it with flip-flops or minimalist sandals like this, this (my go to), or this. Cinch a belt around your waist like this, this for an affordable option, or this.

Then, grab a statement necklace. I’m loving this one or a unique antique turquoise necklace (I’ve found you similar here and here). Stick with a small black bag, a tiny woven option, or a larger tote, and you can make three distinct outfits with the same base dress.

With such a simple outfit I like to pile on rings and bracelets - at any time I have 3-4 rings on each hand, and a few stacked bracelets. My rings are all antiques since I have a passion for hunting for them - here are a few I saw recently that I’m keeping close tabs on: here, here, here, and here. The Dorsey Leonora Petite bracelet in gold is also permanently attached to my wrist at this point. I like layering it with some Kindred Row Healing Gemstone bracelets (I love Carnelian and Lapis Lazuli).

the details on these sunnies and these flats are so spot on

And don’t forget your sunnies! These are the ones I get the most compliments on. I am also on the walistlist for these Camille sunglasses from Vincent Boulevard WHICH HAVE BEEN SOLD OUT FOREVER.…and the other pair I wear in high rotation and I always get DMs asking about are these. These are also a holiday favorite, these for beach vacations, or these for a more affordable option.

Maxi Skirts with Textural Details

i love an unexpected pairing like this

Not too much fabric volume to be frumpy, but lots of texture and detail - that’s the key to a good maxi skirt. One of my favorite skirts is a vintage piece that I’ll pair with a white tee for a monochrome moment, a graphic tee for a playful twist, or a lacy tank for something more whimsical.

And don’t worry, I’ve found some similar skirts for you here, here, and here. You also can’t go wrong with a cotton gauze in whatever color you can find.

the details on this one are so good!

If white on the bottom isn’t your vibe, you can go with a darker option like black (here’s another option similar to one I’ve been living in) or chocolate brown.

Wildcard: Matching Sets

Matching sets might not be a dress necessarily, but they’re the perfect amount of ease for a brunch event. Here (with the match) for simple, here (with the match) for something with some personality, and here (with the match) for black.

Here and here are a couple other options I think look so chic.

Throw on some woven flats (these are my current obsession), grab a bag (this is a vintage find I’ve been eyeing), some jewelry details, and you’re good to go.

Happy shopping and brunching!

These articles take many days to write and put together. I try to pack as much value into my free posts as I can, but for this to be sustainable for me I rely on paid subscriptions. If you value the work that I do - consider upgrading to Paid to get the deeper cut: my professional guidance on nutrition and fitness, my most favorite recipes, plus the stuff I don’t share anywhere else — the honest version of what’s happening to my body in perimenopause, cosmetic treatments, parenting, and more. If you want the full world, not just the highlight reel, upgrade to paid.

DISSH Zaria Pant: My biggest problem with linen pants is that they can often be a bit boring. These are anything but boring. They’re already comfy, but the detailing on the side makes them so elevated.

Leset Margo Tee: If you run into me this summer on the street at all, chances are I’ll be wearing this white tee. It’s become my favorite sturdy tee to build an outfit around. Paired here with my ride or die sunnies and a favorite silver cuff necklace.

Foldable Yoga Mat for Travel: My family is traveling this month visiting extended family, and this travel yoga mat has been such a necessity for me. It folds up all nice and easy, and gives me exactly the right amount of space to get a good workout in. It’s a must for long trips!

Saltair Vitamin C Body Scrub: I wish you could smell this through your phone, laptop, or wherever you’re reading this. Seriously it’s so good I almost want to eat it. It’s got salt, vitamin C, and sugar. It makes my skin feel so refreshed.
