Coffee may be the thing that gets you out of bed every morning, but around here, we like to put it to work on our skin, too.
Caffeine has become one of our favorite ingredients to experiment with because it can temporarily perk up tired-looking skin and help reduce the appearance of puffiness. Over the years, we’ve made a lot of coffee recipes, but these are three we keep coming back to!
This is one of our tried-and-true favorites when the under-eye area is looking tired. It’s quick, easy, and you can use it on your entire face if you’re feeling like everyone needs a little wake-up call.

1 tsp Freeze-Dried Coffee
⅛ tsp turmeric
1 tsp Manuka honey
½ tsp aloe vera gel
Combine the coffee and turmeric.
Add the honey and a small amount of olive oil.
Mix until you have a spreadable consistency.
Apply gently beneath the eyes or over the face, avoiding getting it into the eyes.
Leave on for about 10 minutes.
Remove gently with a warm, damp washcloth.

Caffeine can temporarily reduce the appearance of puffiness and help tired-looking skin appear more refreshed.
Turmeric
Contains curcumin and other antioxidant compounds and may help calm the appearance of irritated skin.
Honey
A natural humectant that helps attract and retain moisture.
Olive Oil
Rich in emollient fatty acids that help soften and moisturize dry skin.
If you’re going to make one coffee product to keep in your bathroom, this is a good one. It’s incredibly simple and leaves dry body skin feeling soft, moisturized, and beautifully conditioned.

Combine the coffee and fractionated coconut oil.
Allow the coffee to infuse into the oil.
Strain thoroughly.
Add a small amount of vitamin E and mix.
Store in a clean, dry container and massage into the body as needed.
Coffee
Topical caffeine is used in some cosmetic products to temporarily improve the appearance of puffiness and skin texture. Evidence for permanently reducing cellulite or tightening loose skin is limited.
Fractionated Coconut Oil
An emollient that helps soften skin and reduce moisture loss.
Vitamin E
An antioxidant that helps protect oils from oxidation while also conditioning the skin.
A quick note: Vitamin E can help slow oxidation, but it isn’t a true broad-spectrum preservative. Because this recipe contains only oil-based ingredients and no water, keeping water out of the container is important.
Cold therapy plus caffeine makes this one especially satisfying in the morning.
