Well look what the cat dragged in. It’s me, its little maw clamped gently around my neck. You might have noticed that I’ve been away for a few weeks.
I just got back home to New Orleans on Sunday after spending a week in Memphis, Chicago, then St Louis for what I had hoped would be a restorative vacation.
It wasn’t very restful, perhaps that’s the big city for you, but I had a blast anyway. Cue a brief vacation montage:
I had a lot of realizations on this trip too, both about myself as a traveling homebody but also my desires for this new season of my art practice and business. I’ve been teasing new beginnings for a few weeks now and want to finally share more about where I am creatively.
In my post about pivoting, I mentioned wanting to take more control of, and thus initiative in, my business. Rather than waiting for the tide to turn, as they say, I’ve begun to churn the waters myself by pursuing other income streams.
I’m dipping my toes into making collections and being more intentional about other ventures like my online shop. In the coming months, I plan to reopen it with a focus on pet portraits and fine art prints.
For now though, I’m getting back into the groove of creating and will be sharing new collages (and maybe studio vlogs) soon. As always, you will be the first to know. Subscribe for free to stay in the loop!
Until next time,
Jade
