I am not sure where July went - but the 1st Sat. at the Chicken Farm Art Center was excellent. The clouds were there covering and protecting us from the heat. I am loving my Hatch-back Awning. This set up is really working nicely.
The afternoon drizzling rain just kept the temperatures down. What a relief as the forecast had been for 105 that day. God is Good! He nudged the cold front in for us a day early. Thank you to all who came out, shopped and said hello! See you in September!!
I worked on catching up with my Watercolor artwork. Some had been started a while ago and just needed to be finished. These are hanging in several locations where I have gallery representation in San Angelo.

I was out “on the streets of San Angelo” Plein Air Painting as well. The Courthouse is sketched and now has some work done on it. The meter maid forced me to “quit parallel parking in the slanted parking spots (there were no other cars on that side of the street??) So, I packed up and went to the Morning Jay Antiques. I stood in the shade of their little tree to sketch the “once home of the Sheep and Wool” building. I am trying to get a series of the historic Leonard Mauldin - architect buildings painted for a chapter in my next book. “Meander San Angelo.” I am targeting a print date in the Fall of 2026.
I’ve even got something started for my cousin. A remembrance of a beloved dog. I promise…. I will get there.
I am making progress on the huge barrel cave painting. It is 60 x 40 inches. The vaulted ceiling area is shaping up nicely. I had to let the oil paint dry for a bit. I will show it to you soon. It is the Ricci Winery in Montepulciano Italy. We were there a year ago in April. I was at the CFAC on Saturday. Sunday was a re cooperation day (although I did off load the Bronco Sport.) Folded up the wet tent as it was dried and put my stuff back in my studio.
We went to Italy - which was amazing. Came home, found a great house and moved. Planned an Art Studio in a portable building to get my art supplies unpacked. There was a ribbon cutting in Mar. 2026 and I am back at it - full bore! Loving every minute of it! Now, I am even back at the CFAC! I have now sold over 100 paintings!
The Studio is where I begin my day with Bible Study - verse of the day in the Holy Bible app in my phone. It is also my office and create space. I am not a morning person anymore. I did that - worked 30-40 hours plus the ranch for long enough. If I need up and going, it’s not a problem. I just value my time differently now.
