We are less than 90 days until the end of the 2026 election—the most important in the life of our Republic. The stakes couldn’t be greater. But still we all need to take a break to relax/laugh/re-charge in any way that works between now and then to avoid burnout.
With that spirit in mind, I wanted to share some of the lighter interviews/segments from my SiriusXM show this week. Yet even in these videos, politics is always present—creeping around the edges or front and center but with humor.
The first video is of Mary Trump that made press. While the interview is about politics of the week, the lighter part has to do with discussing Donald’s apparent wig. (That topic begins at the 11 minute mark.) Mary shared how Donald’s father started wearing a toupee and grotesquely dyed his hair at about Donald’s age. But she added that is when the father began showing signs of dementia. Plus Mary compares Donald’s new hair to a character from a famed kid’s show.
These next two have even more moments of comedy. The first is my interview with Brendan Hunt--the co-creator and one of the stars of “Ted Lasso” who plays “Coach Beard.” Brendan and Jason Sudeikis (“Ted Lasso”) have been close friends for more than 20 years and this show is truly an outgrowth of that friendship. I worked with Jason at Saturday Night Live for several years—he was one the nicest people there.
We talk the creative process behind the show. But given I’m all about politics, I asked if the cast of Ted Lasso would go to the White House if Trump invited them like they did when Biden was in office. (See photo below of that 2023 White House visit—Brendan is the last on the right.)
