Academy Sports + Outdoors is hiring Seasonal Customer Care Team Members to work from home in Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Louisiana.

This role is ideal for someone with customer service experience who wants to transition into remote work.

Position: Seasonal Team Member – Customer Care (Work From Home)

Location: Remote (Applicants must live in GA, TX, OK, AL, or LA)

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required: At least 6 months of customer service experience

In this role, you’ll help customers through:

  • Phone calls

  • Live chat

  • Email support

You’ll answer questions, troubleshoot problems, research orders, document customer interactions, and escalate more complex issues when necessary.

If you’ve worked in retail, restaurants, hospitality, banking, healthcare, or another customer-facing role, many of those skills transfer well to this position.

One of the biggest advantages is that Academy provides your work equipment, including:

  • Computer

  • Two monitors

  • Headset

  • Keyboard

  • Mouse

  • Ethernet cable

Many remote jobs expect you to purchase your own equipment, so this can save you hundreds of dollars.

Before applying, make sure you have:

  • Reliable broadband internet (wired connection required)

  • A quiet workspace without background noise

  • Enough internet speed to support remote work

Wireless-only internet is not accepted for this position.

Successful applicants typically have:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • The ability to multitask between multiple programs

  • Good problem-solving abilities

  • Strong attention to detail

Previous work-from-home experience is helpful but not required.

This position could be a good fit if you are:

  • Trying to break into remote work

  • Leaving retail but want to use your customer service experience

  • Looking for flexible work you can do from home

  • Comfortable helping customers over the phone, chat, and email

To improve your chances of getting through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), make sure your resume highlights experience with:

  • Customer service

  • Phone support

  • Email support

  • Live chat

  • Problem solving

  • Conflict resolution

  • Order management

  • Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

Whenever possible, include measurable accomplishments. For example:

  • Assisted 60+ customers daily

  • Maintained a 95% customer satisfaction rating

  • Resolved customer issues on first contact

Specific numbers help your resume stand out.

This isn’t the highest-paying remote job I’ve shared, but it’s one of the more accessible opportunities for people trying to get their first work-from-home position.

If you’re serious about working remotely, don’t wait too long to apply. Seasonal customer service positions often receive a large number of applications and can close quickly.

I’ll continue sharing verified remote jobs throughout the week—from entry-level positions to higher-paying careers—along with resume tips to help you land interviews.

Happy job hunting!
