I come from a family that has served for generations in its defense since our nation’s founding. Wars change but the needs of our warriors remain the same. Whether you agree or disagree with a war, those young Americans who swore the oath have no choice but to serve far from home. No matter your politics I urge you to ever forget our soldiers in harms’ way.
Anytime I hear story about our troops in need I’ll share it.
My good friend Jeanne, Queen of the Rural Dems, has a pal named Judy whose grandson is in Qatar. Together Judy and Jeanne are assembling “CARE packages” of supplies to send to her grandson’s unit.
If you are inclined to support our troops they could use some morale boosting supplies such as:
premium wet wipes, baby wipes, “Dude Wipes” (About 20% of the troops are women who also use as these are used when showering is not possible.)
Paperback books
Protein snacks
Nuts
Jerky
durable snacks that survive intense heat without melting
heavy-duty black or coyote-brown tactical socks
liquid electrolyte drink mixes (like Liquid IV)
beef jerky
Eye drops & saline spray: Crucial for combating dry air, dust, and fine desert sand.
Foot powder & Gold Bond: Essential for foot health during long hours in boots.
Lens cleaning cloths: Small packs help clear dust and sand off protective eyewear and goggles.
Travel-size toiletries
Unscented or lightly scented soap
body wash
toothpaste
disposable razors
These items supplement their MREs and are used to stock their rucksacks. Your donations will give the troops some relief and genuine pleasure in the form of a treat from home.
Just to be remembered means the world. The mental and physical stress is a daily grind for our men and women in uniform. Always has been. Always will be.
My buddy Jeanne was able to raise $1,000 to cover postage. And to pick up a load of goodies.
