Sunday Is a Good Night for a List

• I watched The Devil Wears Prada 2 last night. The clothes were extraordinary, the rest was beyond meh.

• I watched After Hours, the movie from the ‘80s that was shot in and is about Soho. It carried me along like a good soft current. I thought about throwing keys and letting people in, and random parties we would go upstairs to in Soho on the weekends.

• I finished reading our book club book, March by Geraldine Brooks, a historical novel. It was very good, and the more I read, the more I understand how we as a country have landed where we are.

• It is good to say it’s okay sometimes. Someone commented on this video and said, “Yeah, but how would you feel if he took off the front of your car?”

  I did not answer that one.

• I love rickrack trim, and I am holding back from purchasing a larger than average rickrack. I would use it on these perfect scarves I cannot stop making using vintage fabrics. So far, I have withheld the urge.

• I have been listening to the song “Salesman Saint”... Paul McCartney, and “The Book of Love”... Olivia Rodrigo. I loved the Magnetic Fields.

• Is there a Seinfeld episode you remember? I have one: when George tipped into a jar on the counter and took the money out, so that the person working behind the counter, who had his back turned, would see him put the tip in the jar when he turned around. Imagine how that went.

• Because I am more willy-nilly here, I have paused all my paid subscribers. You will not be billed.

• Tomorrow I am making a video on how to make alstroemeria (Peruvian lily) look good in an arrangement. I will post that on my YouTube channel. Subscribe, please... could be fun. They are my least favorite flower, or one of them, but I am tempted by the large bouquets at Costco and the hardiness. They will last forever if you change the water.

• This evening I cooked mushrooms in a new way. I chopped them and put them in a heated pan, stirred them around, and added 1/4 cup of water. They steamed and cooked, and near the end I added a little olive oil and salt and pepper. They were evenly cooked, and I only needed that little bit of oil at the end.

• I have a dream to start a kickball night once or twice a month. There are many vacant baseball fields; all we would need is 16-18 people and to meet up before dark. Kids welcome of course.
