In recent years, many Americans have been told that faith belongs behind stained-glass windows and nowhere else. We are told that Christianity must be private, silent, and unseen in the civic arena. But that idea is not only historically inaccurate; it is fundamentally un-American. The truth is simple: faith was never meant to be confined to the shadows. It shaped our founding, guided our laws, and undergirded our understanding of liberty. Christianity cannot be silenced in the public square because it is woven into the moral fabric that made the public square possible in the first place.
