Hi from our new home. So it turns out that I don’t like moving as much as I thought I did, but we’re home and settling in. To make things extra fun, I took on six new partnership, shooting 5/6 of them the day before the move. There was an insane storm so I couldn’t shoot until 4PM and just powered through. I planned on editing everything during the move but we couldn’t find Blueberry for five hours, so I spent that time looking for my daughter’s soul cat who finally showed up in the middle of our basement storage room. Then I stubbed my toe in sandals and let’s just say it wasn’t the smoothest day. But we did it.
I had been talking to Jackie on and off and when she message to say “I’m here” I told her how much I appreciated her being here for me. She was at my house with her girls to come help me find him. 💗
Ok, I feel so behind. Let’s get to it.
Our New Home
There’s still a lot to do at the house, but we’re settling in. I’m reupholstering most of our furniture, and we need new rugs and window treatments, more furniture, and bedroom wallpaper goes up in the coming weeks. I also don’t have a bathroom or closet right now. Even with the chaos and construction, and half our stuff in boxes, it feels really good.
We’ve used this living room more than our last one, and we lived there for four years. The room needs a larger rug, we’re changing out the fireplace surround, and I’m reupholstering a few things, but I love how it’s coming together. Once we start working on the first floor, we’ll order drapes, too.
Our neighbors knocked on the door last night and ended up staying for a while. The kids made a welcome sign and brought squishies, and went right down to the playroom. It was everything I hoped we’d find here. My girls are going to reciprocate with their favorite squishies. I actually think these are better than NeeDoh.

The living space in our new basement is much larger than the last, so I’m moving our larger air purifier down there and bought this one, which will cover the whole first floor. I ordered the mini for our bedroom, too.

I got a few things to keep the kids busy while we packed, and this sensory stuff has been a huge hit. Bonus: it doesn’t stick to anything.
