Reset

I’m taking a break for the summer: two weeks away, camping with the children. A chance to pause and reset. And not just for myself.

Mid August, when I return, I’m giving Social Leadership Daily a reset too, focussing back to the core purpose. A community in dialogue with our Social Leadership practice, for sixty seconds a day.

In just over a hundred posts time we will reach 1,000, and I’m going to use those hundred days to take us on a tour through the whole of the Social Leadership Ecosystem, through the original NET Model, as well as key aspects of my current and emergent work in this space. Or to put it another way, we are going on an adventure.

My aim is also to grow the community: to hit a thousand days with a thousand people here in this space. Not that numbers really matter, but it gives me something to build towards.

My relationship with this space - with this community - has always been complicated. I started this work to ensure that I keep myself in dialogue with my own work. I’ve never been one to write a book and trade off it for ever. In fact, I have the opposite problem of writing too much! But I like it - to be in motion, which is itself one of the key new ideas in my Social Leadership work.

But that dialogue with practice means that sometimes I’m lost, frustrated, or intimidated by the work. Sometimes I’ve written in this space for the sake of writing, whilst at others it’s been because I am building out ideas.

The next one hundred days are about a reconnection for me, to my work, and perhaps to you all, as a Community.

Thank you for being part of this Community. Throughout it all, I maintain the core premise of this space: whoever you are, however you turn up, you are very welcome here. We can meet within our imperfection.
