The former Pfizer headquarters at 235 East 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan is currently at risk of collapsing after workers discovered buckled structural columns and sagging floors inside the tower this morning.
The 38-story building, seen here first in April 2026 during its conversion from offices into apartments, was evacuated along with several nearby buildings after bricks reportedly fell from the structure.
The second image shows the site in 2024, before construction began.
With more than 1,600 apartments planned, the project has been described as the largest office-to-residential conversion in the city’s history.
