Insider trading might be illegal, but insider shopping is how you find the best deals. Knowing the inner workings of Chanel can give you a serious shopping advantage. The company actually owns many of the manufacturers behind its specialty items, and knowing names like Barrie or Maison Michel can lead you to exceptional craftsmanship without necessarily paying Chanel prices.
In my last Substack, I listed many of the companies behind Chanel’s most celebrated craftsmanship. Naturally, the next thing I wanted to know was what I could actually find from them. So I did the searching for you. While some of the finds are vintage, many are brand new and some are as much as 80% off.
Consider this my edit of non-Chanel Chanel: great pieces from the companies Chanel thought were special enough to buy, without the Chanel label or, more importantly, the Chanel price tag.
