Parka is a Caucasian Shepherd with a whole lot of fluff and an equally lovable personality. ❤️ While Parka has been a sweet dog with us, we ask anyone interested in adopting to please research and understand the needs and characteristics of this breed before considering bringing one home.

Caucasian Shepherds are large, powerful guardian dogs bred to protect their home and family. They can be naturally territorial, independent, strong-willed, and wary of unfamiliar people. They require a committed owner who understands guardian breeds and is prepared to provide appropriate training, management, socialization, and plenty of space.

Parka is available for meet & greets by appointment. To make sure those interactions are focused on finding the right home, please contact the shelter ahead of time to schedule a time to meet Parka.

To help ensure Parka is placed in a home prepared for the responsibilities that come with this breed, the adoption will be facilitated in coordination with one of our rescue partners. Potential adopters will need to complete the rescue’s adoption process and meet their home-check and adoption requirements before Parka can head home.

Parka may look like one giant, fluffy teddy bear 🐻, but underneath all that fluff is still a Caucasian Shepherd with the instincts and needs that come with the breed. We are looking for someone who loves more than Parka’s looks and is prepared to provide the right environment, structure, and lifelong commitment.
