Mia is a beautiful friendly girl who is new to our shelter, and we're still getting to know her. She's still settling into her new surroundings, but we're already seeing glimpses of what a wonderful companion she can be. Her previous family described her as a very sweet girl who absolutely loves people. She gets especially excited when meeting new friends and is always happy to share her affection.
According to her former family, Mia lived successfully with other dogs and got along well with them. She was also exposed to children from a young age, including children as young as one, and was gentle and easygoing around them. She is housebroken, can be crated when needed, and did well when left alone in the home. She enjoys toys, snuggling, and spending time with her people, and her family reported that she did very well at the vet.
Here at the shelter, Mia is still settling in. She enjoys leisurely walks along the trails, where she can sniff the grass and explore at her own pace. She's an easy walker and happily accepts gentle pets and scratches. With some tasty treats and affection, she begins to relax and show more of her sweet personality. And just wait until you see her smile-it is absolutely adorable!
Mia has met other dogs here, and she prefers gentle and polite pals. She would like to meet any potential roommates to be sure they are a good match.
Mia is a solid 60-pound sweetheart with lots of love to give. We're excited to continue getting to know her and help her feel comfortable while she's here.
