"It Just Takes Time"

I’m supposed to be some kind of Substack dating guru these days, but I don’t know how to give dating advice. I don’t know how to take dating advice. Could be why I’ve been quadruple ghosted? I’m even starting to worry that this whole Substack is a complete turnoff for anyone who thinks about going on a date with me. Why would they want to date someone who might write all about them online? What a betrayal of privacy, an ethical problem, a crazy woman, a total “mess” who’s clearly ~not~ over her ex.

I would call them a ~fucking misogynist~ and also say they are partially correct: I’m not over my ex. It would be super convenient if I had reached some sort of breakup grief breakthrough to write about. Convenient if in the past few months, I met someone else, convenient if I thought they may be “the one,” but THAT would be bullshit because I haven’t. There is one particular piece of dating advice I certainly don’t find productive, and that’s anything regarding time.
