Maija: So Sarah, it’s Valentine’s Day and we’re both very single

Maija: So, I did have a boyfriend of nearly 3 years come off the apps, but we did also both go to UCLA and live 3 blocks away from each other—so there’s that. But, it does get me thinking…would it have worked out if we didn’t already exist in each other’s communities? It also always made me a little bit sad that I never had a meet cute story to tell, and maybe the fact that we didn’t meet IRL somehow foreshadowed the end of our relationship? What do you think?

Sarah: I think that dating apps are simply a reflection of the heavily optimized and extremely social media/comparison heavy culture we find ourselves in.
