Rethinking Rules

Rules.

Do we need them? Yes.
Is it okay to break them sometimes? Also, yes.
Does that mean we should get rid of all rules? No.
But does that mean we should always follow all the rules? Also, no.

After all, rules are made up. By people like you and me. And as I mentioned in the last post, if we made them up, we get to decide if/when we should obey them, or even change them.

Growing up in Singapore, I was (more or less) taught that all rules should be obeyed, all the time, forever.

If you could imagine Singapore as a kid in school, it would be Hermione Granger before she became friends with Potter and Weasley.
