Ten Years Ago Today

10 years ago today I registered the domain for Craft Uncommon.

The name came to me during a car ride through the countryside.

I’ve had a few short-lived runs at this project since then.

You might remember the…

• Instagram Story series I would do on my Tracing Threads Instagram account, or

• The blog I started interviewing makers on, or

• The sporadically used Craft Uncommon Instagram account.

A few small runs at a very large idea. And nothing stuck.

This time last year, I gave myself permission to compost the project for good.

But then!

But then, dear reader.

I moved out of the city, to a much smaller place (that feels a great deal like the countryside I was driving through 10 years ago), and suddenly the room and the desire for the project returned.

Along with an easy, enjoyable path forward:

What if was just teeny, tiny shares? A place to catalogue the stuff you’re noticing anyway? A simple email every week?

Yes! We’ll send it Sunday mornings. Something to keep your morning coffee company.

So that’s it friends.
