If we are to believe Plutarch, the 1st-century Greek philosopher, even the tiniest chink in our armour is enough to allow ne’er-do-well forces to enter our homes, so you will need your thresholds to be strong.
I feel like I am in an endless summer of sunshine, heat and parched earth. Joyous in the swimming and socialising. Desperate in the growing of our food and care of the animals in the drought.
There are portents of doom and hardships on the horizon along with the US midterms. In the UK we have a new unelected Prime Minister. All this as the Empires wars rage and threats to our freedoms and livelihoods increase.
This truly does feel like the threshold we have talked about before where our lives are changing beyond previous recognition.
To consciously cross such a threshold is to be vulnerable to the unknown, whilst open to all manner of potential . There will be wonderful and worrying things as well as possibilities that are endless and unforeseen. This why we need to come prepared strong, yet supple......
Being prepared is what the series on Threshold Guides is all about. The contributions gratefully received from Maya Frost, Angell Deer , Diana van Eyk, Paulette Bodeman and Gillian & Li'l Bean .
Do revisit or see any you missed they are all so valuable and supportive.

As Samantha Sweetwater writes in True Human , Reimagining ourselves at the end of our world..
“We are part of a bigger story, a story of life separating from itself to become self aware, then relearning to consciously know, celebrate, and co-evolve itself through a collectively self-aware process.
To remember that life is a gift is the beginning of weaving the parts back together.
The key lies in one little shift -in coming home, individually and collectively, to the circle of life, and thus reimagining who and what we are. “
Coming home is our ultimate threshold both physically and spiritually to be protected, honoured and maintained in any prevailing conditions.
With this in mind here is the contribution from Marisol on being a Good Guide for our Threshold series .
are not to be confused
with ‘Good Guys’ or with ‘God Guides.’
Good guides point
in various ways, to various ways.
They don’t dictate, they don’t direct.
Good guides welcome,
they pause, they stop,
they wait.
Good guides don’t pressure, don’t push, nor do they pull.
Good guides don’t carry others, nor others’ carry-ons.
Good guides may lead, but not too far ahead, they’d rather walk alongside.
Good guides don’t walk too fast.
Good guides don’t talk too much.
Good guides don’t preach, nor do they proselytise.
Good guides observe, they listen,
they try to understand.
They respond as best they can.
Good guides apply, practice, show, may sometimes tell.
They teach whatever they have learned,
from guidebooks, from the path, from the past.
Good guides learn from fellow friendly faithful guides,
not from false, fake guides,
not from fabricated lies.
May we be
guided skillfully, wisely
by good guides.
May we be
and serve as skilful, wise
good guides.
This is the power of the liminal space calling us to rise and be fully who we can be in this time of emergency and emergence.
Plutarch was right that we need strong thresholds. But his ancient meaning of armour is different to how we can interpret it today.
Because strength and suppleness are the ‘armour’ to navigate our times. Chinks aren’t always weaknesses — sometimes they’re where the light gets in.
I look forward to exploring more on how we protect without hardening and making our selves brittle. How we keep strengthening our fortitude, grace and humanity.
Onwards and Upwards,
With Love,
🍄“Mycelial Consciousness” Conversation with Michael Haupt of Framer OS . He defines this as the next evolutionary stage of human awareness. Collectively moving away from competitive, extractive “Material Consciousness” toward collaborative, interconnected systems inspired by fungal networks.

🌚This is crazy, but I have started to think about winter and being with the darkness. I am going to be doing the 13 Nights of Magic again.
I am having such fun collecting ideas with things to make and do in that special liminal, threshold time around the winter solstice.
